DD Free Dish announced 43rd e-auction for MPEG-4 slots on 22 Jan

This is good news for DD Free dish viewers that Prasar Bharti, India's public broadcaster invited applications from private satellite TV channels for filling up MPEG-4 TV slots of DD Free dish DTH.

These channels to be available from 1st February 2020 to 14th May 2020 as a pro-rata basis.

Which TV channels can participate in this e-auction?

Only satellite private TV channels licensed by the Ministry of I&B will be allowed to participate in this e-auction.
International TV channels can also participate in the 43rd auction which has licensed and registered by the Ministry of I&B.

Which Set-Top Box required to watch these channels?

Currently, all the MPEG-4 TV channels are free-to-air for a temporary basis so these channels can be received by any free-to-air or DD Free dish authorized set-top boxes.
But Prasar Bharati reserves all rights to restrict or stop free-to-air signals, and TV channels will be continued only in Prasar Bharati authorized i-CAS enabled set-top boxes.

DD Free dish viewers can buy DD Free dish authorized Set-Top Boxesfor interrupted service.

What is MPEG-4 Slot's reserve price in 43th e-auction?

Prasar Bharati reserve price for MPEG-4 slot of Rs.16,50,000. And e-auction is open to all genre( language) Channels.

How can private satellite TV channels participate in 43rd e-auction to join DD Freedish?

The channel/company desirous of participating in the e-auction may apply in the prescribed Bidder Registration form along with requisite fee and all documents, as mentioned in the Bidder Registration Form, which is available on the official website - www.doordarshan.gov.in and www.prasarbharati.gov.in
