Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting Shri Prakash Javadekar launched the DD Assam channel. DD Assam is a 24x7 regional TV channel for the dedicated to Assam state.
Prasar Bharti rebranded DD North-East channel into an exclusive channel for Assam. DD Assam TV channel is dedicated to the state people and state culture and will have around 6 hours of fresh Assamese programming with specific slots for languages such as Bodo.
DD Assam will start to contribute in a major way for the development of the statement for Education, local news, General knowledge, programs, Music, culture, and development.
Prasar Bharati earlier introduced DD Arun Prabha channel for the Arunachal Pradesh which is telecasting from Itanagar. As you know Recently Prasar Bharti also launched 11 regional TV channels for the other Indian states including DD Shimla, DD Hissar, DD Dehradun, DD Raipur, DD Ranchi, DD Goa, DD Imphal, DD Itanagar, DD Aizawal, DD Shillong and DD Agartala which respectively have been placed on DD FreeDish service.
