DD Retro added on Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) Service

Prasar Bharati is India's public broadcaster. The Prasar Bharati recently migrated its terrestrial analog TV service to Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) service in all over India.

DD Retro is a newly launched TV channel by Doordarshan Prasar Bharati, will also be available on DTT service. Although DD Retro TV channel is already available on major cable tv and direct to home platforms, including DD Freedish at channel no.3, Sun Direct on Channel no 350, Dish TV on channel no 2008, and Airtel digital TV on channel no 154.

DD Retro channel is specially launched for all-time hits and epic programs of the Doordarshan channel. DD Retro is already started to telecast Mahabharat, Shaktiman, Sankat Mochan Hanuman and other popular shows.

So now the channel will be available on Doordarshan's DTT platform.

You can receive TV channels using DTT / DVB-T2 technology, using 3 methods -

If you are purchasing a new TV set, then you must confirm with TV manufacturers that your Television set has a digital tuner or not. Only TV sets that inbuilt a digital tuner, can receive 8-10 free TV channels using DTT service. another set-top box is not required.

If you have television sets with analog tuners then you can buy DTT Set-top box to receive Doordarshan's digital TV channels.

The DTT service can also be received in android and iOs smartphones. It required DTT / DVB-T2 dongle to attach to the smartphone. The Internet is not required to receive DTT services. If you don't want to purchase dongle then you can watch DD Retro using NewsonAir  mobile application. You can watch DD Retro Live streaming on NewsonAir app.

So it is good news that the DD Retro channel will also be available in DTT Service.
