DD Kisan is an Indian agricultural 24-hour television channel, owned by Doordarshan and was launched on 26 May 2015.
DD Kisan Channel is dedicated to agriculture and allied sectors, providing real-time inputs to farmers on new farming techniques, water conservation, and organic farming.
Ahead of the 2014 Indian general election, Mr. Narendra Modi had announced that he would try to set up a dedicated channel for Indian farmers if voted to power. This was Narendra Modi's first gift to Indian farmers.
