दूरदर्शन, नाम ही काफी है।  भारत के पहला  टीवी चैनल जो भारत सरकार के द्वारा चलाया जा रहा है, आपको बताते  प्रसन्नता हो रही है की दूरदर्शन ने अपने 60 साल पुरे किये है।  दूरदर्शन एक वो चैनल है जिसे देखने के लिए कभी भारत ठहर सा जाता था। अगर भारत को एकता का मतलब किसी ने समझाया है तो है, वो आपका अपना दूरदर्शन।
दूरदर्शन की शुरुआत भारत की राजधानी दिल्ली से सितम्बर, 1959 से हुयी. जो आज विश्व में  अपने प्रसारण क्षमता और कवरेज के माध्यम से विदेशो में भी देखा जाता है।

दूरदर्शन का इतिहास -

दूरदर्शन की शुरुआत सितम्बर में 1959 में हुयी थी। पहले इसका नाम टेलीविज़न इंडिया था, बाद में इसे दूरदर्शन नाम दिया गया और  शुरुआत में दूरदर्शन चैनल पर प्रसारण, सप्ताह में सिर्फ 3 दिन होता था वो भी आधे  घंटे के लिए।  उसके बाद नियमित दैनिक प्रसारण की शुरुआत 1965 से हुयी। उसके बाद से दूरदर्शन का विस्तार किया गया, 1972 में दूरदर्शन सेवा मुम्बईव अमृतसर तक विस्तारित की गई। 1975 तक यह सुविधा 7 शहरों मे शुरु हो गयी थी। रंगीन दूरदर्शन का राष्ट्रीय प्रसारण 1982 से शुरु हुआ था। उससे पहले प्रसारण ब्लैक एंड वाइट में होता था।

इस समय के दौरान लोगो में दूरदर्शन के प्रति इतनी दीवानगी थी की वो अपने जरुरी काम समयानुसार ख़त्म करके खास प्रोग्राम को देखना नहीं भूलते थे  जिनमे कुछ मुख्य प्रोग्राम इस प्रकार थे।

मनोरंजन के कार्यक्रमों में दोपहर 12.00 बजे से अपराह्न 3.00 बजे के बीच प्रसारित किए जाने वाले दैनिक धारावाहिक तथा रात्रि 8.30 बजे से मध्य रात्रि तक प्रसारित किए जाने वाले धारावाहिक कार्यक्रम शामिल हैं। इसमें शुक्रवार, शनिवार और रविवार को फीचर-फिल्मों और माह के अंतिम रविवार को पुरस्कृत क्षेत्रीय फिल्मों का प्रसारण भी शामिल है। उच्च गुणता वाले सिनेमा को प्रोत्साहित करने की अपनी प्रतिबद्धता को ध्यान में रखते हुए, माह के अंतिम रविवार को रात्रि 11.30 बजे राष्ट्रीय स्वर्ण कमल एवं रजत कमल पुरस्कार पाने वाली क्षेत्रीय फीचर-फिल्मों का प्रसारण किया जाता है।

उसके बाद दूरदर्शन ने 1984 में अपना दूसरा चैनल शुरू DD-2 जो की शहरों के लिए था, शुरुआत दिल्ली से ही की गयी और बाद में इसे 1993 में इसे  मुंबई, कोलकाता और चेन्नई में भी पहुंचाया गया। बाद में इस चैनल  का नाम DD Metro किया गया।  और नवंबर 2003 में इस चैनल को DD News के रूप में एक 24 घंटे का सरकारी न्यूज़ चैनल बना दिया गया।

दूरदर्शन के राष्ट्रीय चैनल्स -

दूरदर्शन नेशनल, डीडी न्यूज़ , डीडी भारती, डीडी स्पोर्ट्स, डीडी किसान, और डीडी उर्दू ये 6 चैनल आते हैं।  और DD India (दूरदर्शन भारत ) देश का पहला अंतर्राष्ट्रीय चैनल है। डीडी-नेशनल पर ऐसे राष्ट्रीय कार्यक्रम प्रसारित किए जाते हैं जिनका मुख्य उद्देश्य राष्ट्रीय एकता को बढ़ावा देना तथा मन में एकता एवं भाई-चारे की भावना बैठाना है। यह चैनल देश का नम्बर एक चैनल है। क्युकी इसकी TRP को मापा नहीं जा सकता क्युकी ये अलग अलग माध्यम से देश के लोगो तक पहुँचता है।  जिसमे DD फ़्रीडिश, डिजिटल टेररिस्ट्रियल सेवा, DTH और केबल टीवी आदि आते है।  डीडी-नेशनल पर मनोरंजन, सूचना एवं शिक्षा संबंधी कार्यक्रमों का स्वस्थ मिश्रण होता है। इस चैनल पर प्रात: 5.30 बजे से मध्य रात्रि तक स्थलीय मोड में सेवा उपलब्ध कराई जाती है। उपग्रह मोड (Cable TV, IPTV & DTH) में डीडी-नेशनल चौबीस घंटे उपलब्ध रहता है। लोक सेवा के इस मिश्रित चैनल के प्रसारण का समय इस ढंग से तैयार किया गया है कि यह विभिन्न समयों पर विभिन्न श्रेणी के दर्शकों की आवश्यकताओं को पूरा करता है।

सभी महत्वपूर्ण राष्ट्रीय आयोजनों जैसे गणतंत्र दिवस परेड, स्वतंत्रता दिवस समारोहों राष्ट्रपति और प्रधान मंत्री के राष्ट्र के नाम संबोधनों, संसद के संयुक्त सत्र में राष्ट्रपति के अभिभाषण, संसद में होने वाली महत्वपूर्ण बहसों, रेलवे और आम बजट प्रस्तुत करने, लोकसभा और राज्यसभा के प्रश्न काल, चुनाव परिणाम और उनका विश्लेषण, शपथ ग्रहण समारोहों, राष्ट्रपति एवं प्रधान मंत्री की विदेश यात्राओं और विदेश से भारत आने वाले विशिष्ट व्यक्तियों की यात्राओं का डीडी-नेशनल पर सीधा प्रसारण किया जाता है। महत्वपूर्ण खेल-कूद आयोजनों जैसे ओलंपिक, एशियाई खेल, क्रिकेट टेस्ट मैचों और अन्तर्राष्ट्रीय एक दिवसीय मैचों, जिनमें भारत एवं अन्य महत्वपूर्ण खेल प्रतिद्वंदी भाग ले रहे हों, का भी सीधा प्रसारण किया जाता है।

शिक्षा संबंधी कार्यक्रम इंदिरा गांधी राष्ट्रीय मुक्त विश्वविद्यालय (इग्नू), विश्वविद्यालय अनुदान आयोग (यूजीसी), केंद्रीय शिक्षा प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (सीआईईटी) और राज्य शिक्षा प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान (एसआईईटी) जैसे विभिन्न स्रोतों से प्राप्त किए जाते हैं। इसके अलावा, टर्निंग प्वाइंट, प्रौढ़ शिक्षा कार्यक्रम, टेरा क्विज और भूमि (पर्यावरण से संबंधित कार्यक्रम) जैसे प्रायोजित कार्यक्रम, महिलाओं, जनजातीय मामलों से जुड़े विषयों पर कार्यक्रम और लोक सेवा संबंधी अन्य कार्यक्रम भी नियमित आधार पर प्रसारित किए जाते हैं।

दूरदर्शन के डी डी फ्रीडिश के द्वारा ही भारत के छात्रों  को फ्री में शेक्षिणक चैनल्स मिलते है जिनकी संख्या 50 के पास है जो MHRD और वंदे गुजरात के माध्यम से चलाये जा रहे है। जिसके द्वारा टीवी चैनल्स के द्वारा गांव के लोगो को शिक्षित किया जा रहा है।

This is the biggest good news for DD Freedish viewers that DD Free dish increased its MPEG-2 slots. Now 8 new vacant slots added on DD Free dish DTH. These vacant slots can easily receive by any type of satellite receiver or set-top box.

Now total channels increased 80 TV channels to 88 TV channels, without adding 50 educational TV channels and 16 MPEG-4 channels.

Just press the Menu button from  your remote
Go to Program Set-up




















Now select Auto Scan
In Search type choose - FREE

It means you are asking to your set-top box to scan only free TV channels, because if you choose ALL then it will also scan paid TV channels which you can not receive audio and video.

So just delete all the TV channels, and scan your box again with [ Search -> FREE] option. then you will receive all the free TV channels available by DD Free dish.


For MPEG-4 / HD Set-Top Boxes :

Just press MENU button from your remote
Go to Installation
and choose Single Satellite scan



Press the Blue button for scan
Select Scan type - Blind Scan
Mode - FTA
Services - TV / Radio
Now press OK on search button.

Here [Mode -> FTA] will avoid all the pay channels, you will receive only free TV channels. So now you have clean TV channels and radio channels list.

Doordarshan's DD Freedish (Prasar Bharati) Invited Application for 42nd Online e-auction from Private TV Channels as Pro-Rata BasisAfter a long period, DD Free dish invited application for 42nd online e-auction from private TV channels of India. The Application will be invited for vacant MPEG-2 slots of the DD Free dish platform.

India's Public broadcaster Prasar Bharati has amended its latest policy guidelines for allotment of vacant slots of DD Freedish DTH. Here you can check what has done in this amendment. These amendments were approved by the Prasar Bharati Board in its 157th meeting held on 23rd October 2019, and this second amendment, 2019 will come into force from 1st November 2019. These amendments shall be called as “Policy guidelines for allotment of slots of DD Free Dish Direct-to-Home Platform to satellite TV channels (Second amendments), 2019”.

What is new in this amendment -

1- Bucket B expanded by adding Teleshopping (Hindi) channels in it. So now the latest DD Free dish "Bucket B" have given below channels -

Bucket B = Hindi Music Channels + Hindi Sports Channels + Hindi Teleshopping Channels + Bhojpuri Movies Channels + Bhojpuri GEC Channels

2 - Prasar Bharati Management is authorized to make a decision on reservation for the genre, and on the number of slots to be reserved deemed to be in public interest

3 - The Prasar Bharati will make a provision to reserve some slots in the MPEG-4 stream for placement of foreign Public Service Broadcasting Channels -
(a) on reciprocal basis/barter basis (b) on an invitation basis for strategic collaborations

It is subject to availability of slots and the Broadcasters willingness to match the last highest bid for MPEG-4 slot.

4 - This amendment will also have the provision to reserve some slots in the MPEG-4 stream for placement of co-branded channels on case to case basis; expansion into HD and placement of DD regional channels.

5 - The Prasar Bharati management will be authorized to take a decision on such a reservation. However, the placement of co-branded channels on case to case basis will be with the approval of the Prasar Bharati Board.

6 - In case, five or more vacant slots are available, then one slot will be reserved for each Bucket in the first round (online e-auction). In case no application is received for a particular Bucket, then there will be no reserved slot in that Bucket.


After the completion of the first-round auction of one slot so reserved in Buckets, the remaining slots will be auctioned Bucket-wise starting from A+ and will progressively go down from Bucket A+ to Bucket D till such time there are no bidders in a given bucket or there is no vacant slot left.

“If the number of vacant slots is less than five, the auction will proceed from Bucket A+ downwards, without observing any reservation of slots in any Bucket, and will progressively go from Bucket A+ to Bucket D till such time there are no bidders in a given bucket or there is no vacant slot left.
The slot fee will be determined on a pro-rata basis using the previous highest bid price for that bucket.

DD Freedish India's only FREE DTH service declared the final result of 42nd online e-auction which is held recently. As per information, 7 new channels won the slots as a pro-rata basis and it will be available on Free dish DTH from 1st December 2019.

So here is the channel list of new TV channels -

DD Freedish already completed its 42ind online e-auction and the result declared. A total of 8 TV channels won the slot. ABZY Cool Hindi movie channel also participated and won the slot. ABZY Cool channel will be available from 01.12.2019 to 29.02.2020 (80 days) in MPEG-2 format.

ABZY Cool Frequency and Channel Number -

It will be available on 1st December 2019


ABZY Cool channel was already available in MPEG-4, but recently it has removed. Although this channel is also available on Intelsat 20 Satellite on C-Band.

Recently DD Free dish added 8 new private TV channels on its platform so Doordarshan Prasar Bharati decided to shift 7 regional Doordarshan TV channels to new LCN (local channel number).

DD Free dish Satellite signals impacted by weather in rainy seasons. Because DD Free Dish uses Ku-Band signals to broadcast TV signals from the GSAT-15 satellite, which is located at 93.5 degrees east. Although, other DTH services also use Ku-Band satellite signals to broadcast DTH TV signals.

As you know, DD Free dish use Satellite technology(Ku-Band) to broadcast TV signals to STB. Satellite signals are often lost during bad storms as the clouds and the associated lightning can disrupt the signal and prevent it from reaching the dish. Often when this happens the best thing to do is wait until the rain passes.

The wavelength of microwave downlink frequency used in any DTH broadcast is comparable to the diameter of raindrops, and therefore the wave cannot just pass through it without being substantially attenuated. Hence the loss of DTH signal during rains occurs. anybody maybe disturbing but there are no easy ways out.

Why does cable TV run when it's rainy season but DD Free dish does not?

C-band signals are less focused compared to Ku-Band Signals (higher satellite frequencies). This is due to the longer wavelength in C Band. Here less focused signals mean that these signals are less affected by rain.

Most of Cable operators/broadcasters use only C-Band dish antenna to receive signals, then they transfer these signals to viewers home by using coaxial cable and amplifiers.

So now you can understand why Cable TV less affected by rain than any DTH service or DD Free dish.  So heavy rains may result in a temporary outage in the DTH signal.

DD Free Dish DTH Rain problem solution -

Dish Antenna Size -

You can increase the size of the dish antenna if your area comes in heavy rainfall. You should use a 90cm DTH antenna.

Signals leakage -

You should check all the Coaxial cable and connectors to stop signal leakage. You must use branded and high-quality Coaxial cable and connectors to stop signal losses.

High-Quality LNB -

You should use only branded LNBs to increase signal stability. You can check reputed brands like Sharp, SOLID, Power-ox, etc.

Covering your Antenna with Spray -

You can spray your DD Freedish antenna with a non-stick cooking spray oil. This spray prevents raindrops from clinging to the DTH antenna, which can cause it to receive DD Free dish signals erratically. You will need to spray the satellite antenna at least once every three months
