Vishnupuran is a television program by BR Chopra based on Lord Vishnu. This Hindu scripture is based on Vishnu Purana, an ancient collection of stories and scriptures. The Vishnu Purana mentions 10 incarnations of Vishnu (such as Vamana avatar, Varaha avatar, Rama avatar, Sri Krishna avatar, etc.) as well as other legends, such as the legend of Dhruva, Tulsi marriage, etc. The program first aired on Zee TV on January 23, 2000, then it aired in 2003 on Doordarshan's national channel (DD National).

In the Vishnupuran serial Nitish Bharadwaj plays Lord Sri Vishnu and Vaidehi as Srilakshmi. Nitish Bhardwaj had earlier played the eighth avatar of Lord Shri Vishnu, Lord Krishna in the television adaptation of the epic Mahabharata.
Recently the Ramayana serial was telecast on DD National channel which broke all the records till date. The episode aired on April 16 in the Ramayana became the world's most-watched TV program. It became the most-watched entertainment serial worldwide on 16 April with a viewership of 7.7 million. Doordarshan is still number one in TRP.
DD National has also resumed the telecast of Ramanand Sagar's popular program, Sri Krishna, at the same time, with its first episode on May 3, 2020, after the Ramayana serial ended.
